Razorback fans of and visitors to the University of Arkansas have the opportunity to attend sporting events year-round, as the school currently fields 19 total varsity teams — eight men’s and 11 women’s — in 11 sports. The men’s varsity sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and field, and of course, football; the women’s varsity sports include basketball, cross country, golf, gymnastics, soccer, indoor and outdoor track and field, swimming and diving, tennis, softball and volleyball.

Staying for a while? Fayetteville Parks and Recreation offers Adult Sport options in kickball, volleyball, soccer, and slow pitch softball. Youth leagues are available for fast pitch softball and soccer!

New Sports Facilities at the University of Arkansas

Big plans involving major facility upgrades were recently announced for two of the most successful athletic programs at the University of Arkansas, with the goal of significantly enhancing the training and performance development environment for student athletes. The University’s legendarily winning track and field program that has earned record-breaking success with more than 40 National Championships is receiving a $15 million track operations center. The new facility will dedicate approximately 22,000 square feet to combining and expanding many of the program’s daily operations and training needs that serve over 100 male and female student athletes.

Things to Do in Fayetteville During the NCAA Golf Championship

Razorback Run

The Razorback Run is a vibrant, all-ages race held in the heart of Fayetteville each fall. Runners of all ages can choose between a 5K or 15K race. This year’s races will be held the morning of Sunday, September 30 and will benefit the Washington County Animal Shelter & Feed Communities.

Places to watch the College World Series

With the Razorbacks competing in the 2018 College World Series, many locals and visitors will be looking for a great place to watch the baseball games. Outside of Omaha, restaurants and bars in Fayetteville are the best places to watch the Hogs compete. The games will be played from June 16-27, and Arkansas’ first matchup is Sunday, June 17, with an old Southwestern Conference foe, the Texas Longhorns. The “Omahogs” and the ’Horns are scheduled to toss the first pitch at 1 p.m.. If you’re in need of a table or stool to watch, here are a few popular places in Fayetteville.
