37th Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival

All day

The Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival was created to bring together three Northwest Arkansas cross-country races under a single event. The Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival is now one of the premier running events in America.

Typical years, over 80 college teams and 120 high school teams battle for prestige and unique Chile Pepper awards. Additionally, 500 individuals participate in the open events including the Tom Lewis 1 Mile Pepper Dash on Friday night or the Godpepper 4K and 8K community races on Saturday. The event is held at University of Arkansas’ incredible cross country course.

The course is a combination of grass, cinder and uneven terrain. SEC and NCAA Championships have been settled here - and Coach Bucknam describes it as the Superbowl of Cross Country!

Weekend Starts Series

An art-infused series of Friday evening “compact creativity festivals” that will take place in the Ramble. Kick off the weekend with a burst of creativity and fun!

This week, Helen will be making FASTASTICAL paper hats, and Diana will be helping folks take great cell phone photos!

The WEST series is being held in conjunction with the University of Arkansas Department of Music.

Music performers will celebrate the musical diversity found at the university. Concerts will feature jazz trios, Brazilian and Afro-Cuban music, Ozark ballads, classical ensembles, rock songs, medieval music and more!

Attendees can expect a lively atmosphere where they can unwind after a busy work week, enjoy strolling through the beautiful natural area and engage with their local arts community.

Weekend Starts is free and open to the public; all ages are welcome. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic blankets or lawn chairs. Arriving via the Razorback Greenway is encouraged. Parking for Upper Ramble events is available at the West Avenue Parking Deck and on-street parking along Dickson Street; parking for Lower Ramble events is available in the Fayetteville Public Library’s south surface lot and on-street parking along S. West Avenue.

The Ramble is within Fayetteville’s Outdoor Refreshment Area (ORA), allowing attendees to enjoy beverages from participating establishments within the designated zone, provided ORA guidelines are followed.

In the event of inclement weather, updates regarding cancellations or rescheduling will be provided on the City’s website. Attendees are encouraged to check for updates before heading to the event.

Primetime at the Palace

For the first time in more than a decade, Arkansas basketball will host “Primetime at the Palace” as the official tip-off for the 2025-26 season on Oct. 3 (Friday) at 8:00 pm in Bud Walton Arena.

This highly anticipated event, where free tickets can now be claimed online, will start with the official introductions of second-year head coach John Calipari’s men’s team and first-year women’s head coach Kelsi Musick’s squad.

This excitement-filled evening will feature an exclusive event-themed t-shirt giveaway for the first 5,000 fans, a one-of-a-kind arena laser show experience, a dunk contest and a men’s Red-White scrimmage as well as an array of entertainment and much more.

Parking in lots adjacent to the arena will be free and on a first-come, first-served basis. All fans, regardless of age, are required to claim their free ticket for entry. There will be designated student seating and premium seating will be available, with all other seating options being general admission. The arena clear bag policy will be in effect.

Pottery on the Patio

Community Creative Center presents their signature fall event, Pottery on the Patio, at Walton Arts Center’s Nadine Baum Studios! This year, the event returns to Fayetteville for the fifth year in a row on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

Pottery on the Patio is a family-friendly, block party style event featuring live music, a gallery exhibition, live demonstrations, and studio tours. Free, hands-on art activities will include pottery wheel throwing, watercolor painting, kids clay, face painting, and more. With all that festivity, you may need a pick-me-up! There will be beer and wine for the grown ups and ice cream for the young ones and young at heart!

This event is free and open to the public. Any proceeds support the Community Creative Center and its programming, so come out for a fun-filled day of art, music, and creativity!

After a five-year hiatus following the cancellation of the 2020 event, this year’s theme, “REmember, REturn, REvive,” celebrates the resilience of ideas and the power of community coming together again.

TEDxFayetteville 2025 will bring together 12 powerful speakers from Northwest Arkansas and beyond, including individuals who were originally scheduled to take the stage in 2020. Their stories and insights will explore themes of technology, culture, innovation, personal growth, and social impact.

TEDxFayetteville promises a full day of inspiring talks, interactive conversations, and community connection. Attendees will experience a TED-style event curated by local organizers and supported by volunteers, aimed at sparking thought-provoking dialogue and fresh perspectives in Fayetteville.
