Fayetteville is home to world-class mountain biking with a variety of family-friendly flow trails, technical singletrack and purpose-built trail systems just a few miles from downtown. Over 50 miles of singletrack can be found throughout town and additional trails are just a short drive away.
Fayetteville features an extensive 50-mile network of family-friendly paved trails winding through town and is home to Mile Zero of the regional Razorback Greenway. Cyclists of all abilities can cruise the trails where they will find easy access to local eateries, breweries, and public art.

Fayetteville, Arkansas is home to a large portion of the NWA Razorback Greenway - a 40-mile off-street paved trail system that, starting from Mount Kessler Regional Park and the official “Mile Zero”, winds through our Southtown, Downtown, and Uptown areas. With no shortage of trailside stops, you and your family will find easy access to local food and refreshments all along the way. Midway between the suffering associated with road cycling and the surfer-esque culture of mountain biking – gravel riding, sometimes referred to as gravel grinding, is erupting in popularity. A common road surface found in rural areas throughout the United States, gravel road riding has become cycling’s fastest growing discipline. Offering a more relaxed style than traditional paved road riding, cyclists are drawn to the low traffic and diverse scenery associated with gravel riding. It’s not uncommon to ride for hours without encountering a single car.
The Joe Martin Stage Race, one of the top professional and amateur road cycling stage races in the nation, returns to Fayetteville, Arkansas April 2-5th, 2020. In its 43rd year, the Joe Martin Stage Race is the second oldest continually held cycling stage race in the country. Over 4 days, a hundred professional and elite amateur road cycling teams from around the globe gather in Fayetteville for a series of race stages. Rooted in the Ozark Mountains, an expansive road network of quality pavement, diverse topography, and sweeping scenery shapes each stage. The energy culminates for the final stage – the spectator-friendly Experience Fayetteville Criterium on the streets of Historic Downtown Fayetteville.
Experience Fayetteville has been awarded the designation of being a Bronze level Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) by the League of American Bicyclists.
Fayetteville is known as much for its natural beauty and cool college town vibe as it is for its warmth and hospitality. The convergence of those characteristics, as well as an outstanding network of spectacular mountain biking trails, has attracted the exciting launch of Grit MTB Festival—a grass-roots event for women (cis and trans) and non-binary riders. Set for November 15-17, 2019, the festival is based in Kessler Mountain Regional Park and includes a packed weekend of camping, meals, group rides, clinics and workshops. In addition, an optional race is scheduled, as well as a film screening, keynote speaker, yoga and a used-gear swap.
Typically held in the Fall and Winter months, International cyclo-cross racing comes to Fayetteville, Arkansas October 5-6, 2019 for FayetteCross! It’s a full weekend of unconventional bicycle racing at Centennial Park at Millsap Mountain - the future home of the 2022 Walmart UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships!
