Holidays are a special time to visit with family and reconnect with old friends, but more importantly they give us those extended weekends we love so much!
Thanksgiving is the perfect holiday for experiencing Fayetteville in the fall. Of course, deciding what to do with so many events and attractions can be overwhelming. Don’t worry! We’re here to help.
Whether you’re coming back home, coming back for another needed getaway or visiting Fayetteville for the first time, here are some popular things to do in Fayetteville over the Thanksgiving break.
Lights of the Ozarks
This is a must-do during the holiday season in Fayetteville. Enjoy the amazing winter wonderland of lights on the Historic Downtown Square each evening from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Seasonal activities, holiday music, winter treats, hot cocoa, and vendors make Lights of the Ozarks an event that cannot be missed for all ages.
More than 500,000 lights are hung around the square, which is lined with clothing boutiques, restaurants and plenty of stores for holiday shopping. There’s even a microbrewery on the square, West Mountain Brewery, that’s part of the Fayetteville Ale Trail.
Live Music
No trip to Fayetteville is complete without a night on Dickson Street, the entertainment capital of Northwest Arkansas. Dickson Street has seen some of the greatest musical acts play its stages, but over the Thanksgiving holiday it will host a tribute to an Americana music legend, Levon Helm and The Band.
On Saturday, Nov. 29, the 1 Oz. Jig & Friends will take the stage at the legendary George’s Majestic Lounge to perform The Last Waltz Tribute. This is sure to be an amazing night filled with classic songs you know by heart.
Jingle and Mingle Holiday Market
This sweet neighborhood holiday market returns every weekend through December 21st for all your holiday shopping needs! With local and global makers, the Jingle and Mingle Holiday Market is Northwest Arkansas' most talked-about indie gift market.
Not only is the Jingle and Mingle Holiday Market the best place to check off your shopping lists by purchasing amazing handmade gifts, but it’s also an art and craft experience unlike any other.
