Stop 1: Hill Coffee Company
Hill Coffee is a local coffee company directly on the University of Arkansas campus inside the Student Union. As a student here, it is one of my favorite places to study, meet a friend for coffee, or grab a coffee/snack to go. All of the coffees, teas, and foods are delicious, and the fun thing is that a lot of them are named after key things/places in Arkansas such as the "Old Main, " "Devils Den," "The Natural State," etc. This is a great place to start your day so that you can fuel up for the rest of your visit!
Stop 2: Old Main
Old Main is an iconic landmark and the oldest building on the University of Arkansas campus. As a student myself, I will find myself going on walks along the Old Main lawn because it has winding sidewalks that are kept in the shade due to the large amount of beautiful, tall trees. I'll also bring my dog there to run around! One very unique thing is that on the sidewalks starting at Old Main and going on for miles around campus is the "Senior Walk" full of engraved names of every graduated student since the first class in 1876. One of my favorite things to do is to take my lunch to the lawn and picnic with friends or enjoy it on a bench in peace. If you're wanting to see the campus, this is definitely a place you have to see! Take the time to sit and enjoy the fun lawn and take a break in the shade! The best time to walk around Old Main is in the fall because it showcases just how beautiful the fall is here in Fayetteville! The trees turn the most vibrant shades of reds/oranges/yellows, and the weather outside is just perfect!
Stop 3: West Maple Street
Maple Street is one of the main streets on campus that all of the sorority houses are located on. Greek Life is one of the biggest forms of involvement and community at the University, and the houses are as old as 1895 or as new as 2018. Taking electric scooters is one of the main forms of transportation around campus, so I highly suggest grabbing one around campus and riding it down West Maple to get a good look at the houses and other iconic landmarks like the Pi Phi gates, also located on Maple. Scooters are scattered everywhere, but you're almost guaranteed to find one near the Student Union or by the Silas Hunt Building which is right on the light by Maple at the start of Sorority Row.
Stop 4: Wilson Park
Fayetteville is known for all of its outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking, etc. Wilson Park is my favorite park right on campus which offers so much! It's right past the Pi Phi house on West Maple, so you can scooter down to it easily! It has great walking trails, playgrounds for kids, picnic tables, hammock poles, a sand volleyball court, a public swimming pool, and my personal favorite, tennis and pickleball courts! Whenever the weather is nice, I love going to Wilson Park and seeing so many people picnicking or painting in the grass, hammocking, playing pickleball with friends, or just going on walks along the trails. It's a breath of fresh air and a great place to get some exercise, play around, eat an outdoor meal, or just rest!
Stop 5: Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium
College football season is one of Fayetteville's favorite times of the year! The Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium is where all of our in-town games are played which take up most Saturdays for college students and surrounding fans. If you're in town on a Saturday during the season, it's worth looking into buying a ticket for a game so that you can see the fun, exciting atmosphere inside. Or, if you're just passing through and don't have time for a game, you can stop by the front of the stadium and see the iconic hog fountain and snag a cool photo with a great angle of the stadium behind it.
