Today's Tag Along adventure comes from Forrest Addison Roverts and is all about the murals in Fayetteville! All around the NWA area, you'll find buildings decorated with murals by local artists. Most of these can be found in the downtown sections of the cities. Tap the Explore button for an interactive map that will take you on the recommended route.
Murals of Fayetteville, Arkansas
Author: Forrest Addison Roverts
Of the four cities we visited to explore murals, Fayetteville would have to be our favorite. All along Dickson St. and surrounding areas, you'll find great food and other shops to check out. Not to mention A LOT of really cool murals, but our favorite thing to do while visiting here was rent out the electric scooters lol!
Find somewhere to park and walk to just about any corner to find an assortment of electric vehicles you can rent and then just cruise all around the downtown area. I will say that if you choose to ride an electric scooter, get the Spin one. They are a good bit faster than VEO and ride up hills a lot easier.
Stop 1: Dickson Street Bookshop
To start with, here is a mural that can be found on the side of Dickson Street Books in downtown Fayetteville, AR. The best time to view this mural would be before 10am. One the store opens, there are a lot more cars parked along the street.
Stop 2: Kith and Kin
This next one can be found on the side of Kith and Kin Hair Co. a short drive north of downtown Fayetteville. This is probably one that can be difficult to take the electric scooter to mainly due to traffic.
Stop 3: B-Unlimited
You'll find two murals on the building of B-Unlimited. One is right out front and the "Fayetteville Loves You" mural is along the side of the building.
Stop 4: Matt Miller Mural
While you're crusin' on a scooter through downtown Fayetteville, this one is an easy one to swing by and check out. Found pretty much in the heart of downtown Fayetteville.
Stop 5: Ravens
Next to many great shops and local eateries on Dickson St., you'll find the Ravens mural. This area of Dickson St as well as the parking lot next to this mural can get busy to just be cautious while you're out exploring this one.
Stop 6: Harvesting the Winds of Change Mural
Found on the side of Grub's in downtown Fayetteville, "Harvesting the Winds of Change" was one of the coolest and possibly my favorite mural. A little fun fact for you: Though you'll find Grub's in multiple cities now, Grub's originally started in Fayetteville, AR.
Stop 7: Prelude Breakfast Bar
While you're on the scavenge hunt for the amazing murals spread across the downtown Fayetteville area, stop in Prelude Breakfast Bar for some VERY tasty food! Breakfast, brunch, or lunch, this place will certainly satisfy your appetite.
Recommended to us was the omelets and pancake flight so I am passing along that same recommendation to you! :)
