Calling all runners! The Hero Half Marathon returns to Fayetteville Saturday, October 30, 2021, at a new location - The Northwest Arkansas Mall.

Set for Saturday, October 30, 2021, the day’s events are organized by The Spark Foundation in partnership with the Fayetteville Firefighter’s Association, and participants of all ages, paces and abilities can choose to run the half marathon, two-person relay, or superhero 2k.

Firefighter Challenge: While the majority of runners will be hitting the pavement in typical lightweight athletic attire, a dedicated few hardcore active-duty firefighters will take the Firefighter Challenge and run the race in full bunker gear. That's 40-60 lbs. of additional weight including air pack and helmet!

This year's race will begin and end at the Northwest Arkansas Mall. Start/Finish line will be near the west entrance of the mall off of Steele Blvd (near JC Penney). The first leg of the relay will also start at the mall and the exchange will be at the Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks.

It's a beautiful time of year to visit Fayetteville, Arkansas, and the Hero Half Marathon event is a great way to get outside in the Ozarks on a fall day and support local.

The Hero Half Marathon is a fundraising race and community event hosted by The Spark Foundation in partnership with Fayetteville Firefighters’ IAFF – Local 2866. Race proceeds benefit organizations that meet important community needs, increase fitness opportunities for the community and make Fayetteville and Arkansas a great place to live, work, and play.

There will not be any registration on race day, so get signed up in advance! Learn more about the race and get registered to participate at
