The award-winning Fayetteville Farmers Market - a perennial favorite of locals and visitors alike - is celebrating its golden anniversary this year! Celebrate 50 years of the most beloved farmers market in Northwest Arkansas when it returns to the Historic Downtown Square for the 2023 season on Saturday, March 18.
Extending a tradition first implemented in 2022, the market will make its first appearance of 2023 in downtown Fayetteville, AR with a two-part preseason “Spring Fling on the Square”. The “Spring Fling” walk-up markets spanning the last two Saturdays in March - March 18 and 25 - will be open from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The regular Fayetteville Farmers Market season will open the following weekend, on Saturday, April 1, with lengthened hours from 7:00am to 2:00pm. This interactive map shows which vendors to expect on each market date.
The Fayetteville Farmers Market, the oldest in Arkansas, features 70 vendors each season. All vendors are vetted and must grow or make their product within 60 miles of Fayetteville! It’s an incredibly hyper-local market that includes a wide variety of seasonal vegetables, fruits, meats, eggs, and cheeses, in addition to fresh-cut flowers, baked goods, honeys, and jams. You’ll also find a variety of plants, fly traps, fine art, and handmade crafts for sale. A “harvest calendar” that shows which fruits and vegetables will be available at the market each month is available in the Fayetteville Visitor’s Guide.
Once the regular Saturday markets begin on April 1st, they will run each Saturday through November (excluding the Saturday after Thanksgiving) from 7:00am to 2:00pm. Tuesday walk-up markets typically begin in early May and run through September, setting up on the square from 7:00am to 1:00pm. On top of all the wonderful things for sale by local vendors, expect live music on every corner, a rotating selection of food trucks and community groups, and tons of folks and their furry friends all around the square. The Experience Fayetteville Visitors Center also opens for extended hours during the Fayetteville Farmers Market season, so pop in and say hi any weekend!
