Fayetteville Receives Walk Friendly Designation

Fayetteville Receives Walk Friendly Designation

The Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center (PBIC) has designated Fayetteville, Arkansas as a Bronze Level Walk Friendly Community for its walkability initiatives and programs.

Fayetteville is the first city in the State of Arkansas to achieve a Walk Friendly Community Designation. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration and FedEx, Walk Friendly Communities is a national program dedicated to recognizing communities for their commitment to pedestrian safety.

The Bronze Level designation highlights the city's ongoing educational efforts aimed at promoting active transportation and walkability.

Fayetteville is among ten communities recognized in the latest round of Walk Friendly Communities. To date, only 65 communities in the U.S. have been designated as a Walk Friendly Community.
