Every Dog Will Have Its Day in Fayetteville

For many of us, our dogs are part of our family - why shouldn’t they go on vacation too?! Skip those sad you’re-leaving-me? eyes from your pup and make plans to bring Fido to Fayetteville!

Fayetteville is the perfect weekend getaway for you and your canine companion. Tucked into the Boston Mountain Range of the Ozarks, Fayetteville has nearly 50 city parks encompassing more than than 3000 acres of land. You’ll also find 40 miles of paved and natural trails, three lakes, and an abundance of green space to roam! We trust you’ll have no problem choosing a spot to take in the gorgeous views while you have a puppy picnic or play that long-overdue game of fetch with your best dog buddy.

You won’t need to look far for a pooch-friendly patio or a dog-friendly shop in Fayetteville. All around town, and especially on the historic downtown square, you’ll find plenty of businesses that will welcome your furry friends - and maybe even give them a little treat! Start by dropping by the Experience Fayetteville Visitors Center before you head out to explore the rest of our canine-friendly city.

Whether you’re dining out or drinking craft beers on the Fayetteville Ale Trail you’ll find lots of options for bars and restaurants that cater to folks traveling with their pets. At some places, you’ll even find menu items made especially for our furry friends! Make your doggo’s day with a free whipped cream pup cup from 7 Brew, a free frozen custard pup cup from Shakes, or a free chicken-broth “pupsicle” from Pedal Pops.

Throughout the year, Fayetteville hosts an array of family friendly events where animal attendance is almost always encouraged. There are some events specifically dedicated to our four-legged friends, too! One visit to Fayetteville and your pup will be begging you to come back for the annual Dickson Street Pup Crawl or Dogtoberfest Dog Show during Falltoberfest.

If you need a place to stay while you’re here, choose from any one of our many pet-friendly hotels, which you can find noted in the Fayetteville Visitor’s Guide. There are also short-term dog care options available for visitors to help you get to that one not-so-dog-friendly activity on your bucket list!

Whatever you and your best friend are looking to do, Fayetteville has it - and we welcome everyone with open paws.
