In fact, few foods have become such a hot-button topic as pizza, since everyone has a favorite, and they’re proud to argue its merits and willing to persecute yours. (“Did you just say pineapple?!”) But, that’s what makes pizza so great; even through the worst knock-down, drag-out “debates,” it’s still bringing us together. After all, it’s pizza, and we love it.
As a college town, it’s no surprise that Fayetteville has plenty of pizzerias. Some are national chains. Some are regional, like Marley’s Chicago Style Pizzeria on Dickson St., which started in Tulsa, or Arkansas-based favorites, like U.S. Pizza Co. (Dickson St.) and Damgoode Pies (Center St.), both of which started in Little Rock.
Of course, some of the most popular pizza restaurants in Fayetteville are locally owned and operated. Here are a few to get you started on your quest for the perfect pizza pie.
Wood Stone Craft Pizza + Bar
You know something’s good when it’s aimed at “enhancing the culinary experience in Fayetteville and the region as a whole.” That’s some bold talk, and Wood Stone backs it up with their focus on artisan pizzas made with locally-sourced ingredients, as well as its hearty selection of local and regional craft beers.
You can build your own or choose from more traditional pizzas, like the “Ozarkansas” (house red sauce, uncured pepperoni, local ham, house-made Italian sausage, peppers, black olives, onions, local shiitake and crimini mushrooms, mozzarella), to craft pizzas, like the “Bloomington” (caramelized onion-and-rosemary marmalade, gorgonzola, mozzarella, house-made Italian sausage, fresh rosemary).
In addition to their pizza selection, several of the beers offered at Wood Stone are partners of the Fayetteville Ale Trail, including Fossil Cove (both made in Fayetteville), Core (Springdale), Ozark, New Province (both Rogers), and Bike Rack (Bentonville). They also offer wine and amazing signature, classic and seasonal cocktails.
An “Italian eating place” that prides itself on family style meals and being kid friendly, Geraldi’s is located at 20 S. University Ave., just south of where the University of Arkansas campus meets the Downtown & Dickson Street Entertainment District. Ingredients are handmade, and their sandwiches like the “Chicago beef” also are local favorites.
A couple of popular choices are Geraldi’s “Mama Mia Supremo” (pepperoni, Italian sausage, meatballs, mushrooms, black olives, onions) and its take on the original pizza, the Margherita (fresh homemade mozzarella, Roma tomatoes, fresh basil, over an olive oil base).

Mojo’s Pints & Pies
Mojo’s was established with the idea of continuing Fayetteville’s live-music scene, while offering incredible food, hand-crafted cocktails and Northwest Arkansas’ finest craft beers. There’s an inside stage and patio with Christmas lights, and live music is going three nights per week. Additionally, flat screens are all over the place, so if there’s a game you’re wanting to see, chances are they’re showing it.
Mojo’s specialty pizzas are both hilariously named and delicious, like the “C4 Explosion” (Mojo sauce, chicken, jalapenos, bacon, mozzarella, bleu cheese), “Where’s Steve?” (marinara/ranch base, pepperoni, chicken, green peppers, artichoke hearts, mozzarella, feta, jalapenos upon request) and “That Good Green” (pesto, portabella mushrooms, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, mozzarella, fresh mozzarella).
Located at 12000 Garland Ave., Mojo’s is just north of the campus, so it’s a popular hangout for students — be warned!
Tiny Tim’s Pizza
There are actually two Tim’s Pizzas: Tiny Tim’s on the Historic Downtown Square, and Tim’s Pizza East at 1813 E. Mission Blvd. (In fact, there used to be another.) Both offer great, straightforward pizza that has been a staple in Fayetteville for decades. If you’re looking for no-frills, American pizza, you will not be disappointed with either location.
However, Tiny Tim’s is actually joined to West Mountain Brewing Co., a partner of the Fayetteville Ale Trail, so fresh craft beer is being made next door and available on tap. Popular pizzas include the “Pizzazz” (pepperoni, sausage, Canadian bacon, Italian sausage, green peppers, onions) and “Guru’s Delight” (mushrooms, green peppers, onions, tomatoes).
