Event date: April 06, 2019
Originally scheduled for March 9, the Fayetteville Gumbo Cookoff has been moved to April 6. The fourth annual event will be held at the Washington County Fairgrounds from 2-5p.m on Saturday, April 6.
Teams will compete for best amateur, professional and people's choice gumbo, with live music provided by Block Street Hot Club and Second Line Strings.
The winning gumbos for amateur and professional categories will be selected by a group of respectable judges, based on color, aroma, consistency, taste and after taste.
Tickets for the event are $25 and include the most important tools for the day: a bowl and spoon! Local craft beer will also be available on-site for purchase, as well as coins to use for People's Choice Award voting. Children ages 10 and under get in free.
The fundraiser will benefit Ranger’s Pantry Pet Food Bank, and project that provides pet food to Fayetteville residents in need.
