Experience Fayetteville

Fayetteville is more than a destination. It’s an experience.

Experience nature.

Nestled in the Boston Mountain range of the Ozarks, Fayetteville is a favorite landing place for outdoor lovers. Fifty miles of beautiful trails for biking or hiking are available for everyone, from the seasoned mountain biker to the family using a stroller. In 2021, Fayetteville was awarded the designation of Bike City by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the world governing body of cycling.

Fayetteville boasts more than 50 parks and natural areas open to the public. The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is the perfect spot for encountering the diversity and range of our region’s natural beauty, and the Buffalo National River is just a short drive from town.

Experience flavor.

The eclectic mix of restaurants—from fine dining to barbecue to food trucks—means dining out is a treat regardless of budget or taste. Craft beer lovers will want to get their Fayetteville Ale Trail passport and hit the numerous craft breweries and pubs around town.

The Fayetteville Farmers Market is a perennial favorite with locals and visitors alike. Named Favorite Large Farmers Market in 2012, this market is the oldest in Arkansas and features more than 70 growers, artisans, artists, and food producers selling their produce and wares in a year-round and online market.

Experience culture.

From the performing arts to education to nightlife, Fayetteville provides something for everyone. Visitors can see Broadway shows and touring artists at the Walton Arts Center or locally produced theater productions at TheatreSquared or the University of Arkansas. The Headquarters House and Walker-Stone House offer visitors glimpses into Fayetteville’s earliest days.

The University of Arkansas, founded in 1871, has preserved its history in places such as Old Main and Carnall Hall, which is now a restaurant, lounge, and hotel.
