Through programming offered by the League of American Bicyclists, a nonprofit leading the movement to create a Bicycle Friendly America for everyone, Fayetteville now ranks 6th in the country for our number of Bicycle Friendly Businesses (25). The Bicycle Friendly Business award acknowledges an organization’s contributions to increase the bicycle friendliness in their community and hotels now account for 20% of Fayetteville’s recognized Bicycle Friendly Businesses.
Fayetteville ranks behind cities like Fort Collins and Tampa, and ahead of larger metro areas like Portland, Pittsburg, Indianapolis, Nashville, and Seattle. As one of two communities to be recognized in the Top 10 with a population under 100,000, per capita Fayetteville can be considered one of the top Bicycle Friendly Communities in the country.
Trail Accessibility Leads the Way in Fayetteville
With almost 50-miles of in town shared-use paved trails including Mile Zero of the Northwest Arkansas Razorback Greenway, cyclists will find accessing Fayetteville’s extensive paved trail network just a short pedal from most of our hotels. In fact, on average Fayetteville’s two dozen hotels, motels, and inns are within a ½ mile of the trails and some even boast parking lot trail access!
