In classic Ozark Mountain fashion, expect formidable climbs followed by rowdy descents and over 4k in elevation gain. Comprised of over 70% gravel, our ‘Crossroads of the Ozarks’ route features several “spicey” climbs with the largest being a 2.6-mile punch to the top of Drakes Mountain - the route’s highest point.
Close to halfway, cyclists will find a variety of resupply options in Huntsville, Arkansas. Since the early 1800's the town has been the center for business for the agricultural communities surrounding it, and a convenient stopping point for travelers.
This Challenging route favors avid gravel cyclists ready for an arduous day of climbing. Predominantly gravel, cyclists can expect low traffic density through remote areas of Madison County with rewarding views throughout. While generally welcoming, cyclists should always follow the Rules of the Road and should use extra caution at the key crossings and longer paved sections identified on the route.
