Originally launched in September of 2018, VeoRide, Fayetteville’s bike share program, offers a unique opportunity to experience the culture, shopping, dining and outdoors in the Fayetteville area.
With VeoRide, a dockless bike sharing system, users can locate, reserve and unlock available bikes at designated areas throughout downtown and the University of Arkansas campus. Featuring both traditional pedal and electronically assisted bicycles (e-bikes), thousands of students, visitors and locals have utilized the bike share program to take 72,000 rides in the program's first year.
With access to the Razorback Regional Greenway and over 40-miles of shared-use paved trails from the Fayetteville Square, experiencing our vibrant community via the bike share program is an active alternative to more standard transportation. The Greenway serves as a main connection for the Northwest Arkansas region, with the spine-like trail extending from the Kessler Mountain Regional Park in south Fayetteville through Springdale, Rogers, Bentonville and into Bella Vista.
Woven through Fayetteville’s downtown, the Razorback Regional Greenway and its several spur trails safely connect our community and visitors to the countless destinations found throughout our town. Plus, all of the Greenway sections in Fayetteville include lighting for extended use even after the sun sets.
In 2019 Fayetteville ranked 15th in the nation as a Top Overall City according to the 2019 PlacesForBikes City Ratings City Ratings, a data-driven scoring system created by PeopleForBikes. The PlacesForBikes City Ratings ranks cities based on how many people ride bikes, how safe it is to ride bikes, how easy it is for people to get where they need to go, how fast the bike network is expanding and how well the network serves all neighborhoods in the community.
With an easy-to-use bike share program, accessible bike network, and plenty of treats and eats along the way – exploring Fayetteville has never been more bicycle friendly.
