There’s a fun new holiday race coming to Fayetteville this winter for runners and walkers to look forward to! The inaugural and aptly named White Elephant 5K will be held on Saturday, December 11.

The new race is hosted by Fayetteville's Parks and Recreation Department and will take place at the historic Downtown Square beginning at 8:00 am.

Whether you’re running or walking, you’ll be greeted by some iconic Fayetteville landmarks. The road race utilizes the city streets, taking participants past the Square, Old Main, Wilson Park, and Dickson Street. If you know Fayetteville, you know that means racers are in for a hilly one! The festive 5K will feature the Lights of the Ozarks, Santa Claus, and carolers, plus some classic “White Elephant” surprises. You can never be sure what you’re going to get!

The White Elephant 5K is open to participants of all ages and levels, both runners and walkers. Registration is $25 for adults (16+) and $10 for those 15 and under, which includes an event shirt and a finisher medal. Maybe more? Who knows! That’s the “White Elephant” of it all.

You can sign up for the race now until December 10.
