From mid-October to early November in the Ozarks, the leaves change color in spectacular fashion, making for breathtaking views throughout wooded paths, scenic overlooks and even inside the city, considering how green Fayetteville is during the spring and summer months.
While Fayetteville is a haven for competitive cycling and mountain biking, casual bike rides around the city are one of the most popular things to do in Fayetteville. It’s a great way to experience everything the city has to offer — restaurants, shopping, nightlife — while still enjoying the beautiful outdoors Northwest Arkansas and the Ozarks are known for.
Our miles and miles of beautiful trails make biking year-round in Fayetteville a breeze, but warm spring weather is when all the bikes come out to play! Fayetteville celebrates Bike Month every year in May. The month features the popular Square-to-Square bike ride, a 36-mile trail from the Fayetteville Square to the Bentonville Square with great food stops along the way on the Razorback Greenway.
You can also experience biking in Fayetteville with the annual Bike to Baum event, which combines two of Fayetteville favorite pastimes— biking and Razorback baseball. For Bike to Baum, cyclists meet on Dickson Street in Fayetteville’s celebrated entertainment district and ride the trail to Baum Stadium, where they cheer on the Razorback baseball team and call the Hogs in one of the best ballparks in the SEC.
