Starting from the Lake Wedington Recreation Area just west of Fayetteville, the Chinkapin Hollow Gravel Grinder winds through the hardwood timber forests of the Ozarks before crossing into Oklahoma – for a two-state dirt road adventure!
Featuring a popular mass start format, the gravel racing kicks off Sunday morning, October 24th at 8 am with multiple route options of 45, 66, and 107 miles. Participants can expect long stretches of rolling gravel that descends through historic communities predating the American Civil War.
Taking the lead in diversifying the sport of gravel, the Chinkapin Hollow Gravel Grinder has a stated goal to double the number of women participants over 2020, with a minimum of 350 entrees being held for women cyclists!
