The atmosphere of the Ladies Du Fayetteville is a unique multi-sport race experience for women athletes. The event welcomes women, non-binary, and gender non-conforming athletes to participate in the DU. Hosted by the Fayetteville Parks & Recreation Department, this one-of-a-kind duathlon will take place in a safe and modified way in 2021. A virtual race option will be available, which allows racers to participate when and where they choose while still connecting the spirit of the Ladie DU!
The duathlon will follow a traditional run/bike/run format with the distances being 2 miles/11 miles/2 miles. The race will take place at Lake Fayetteville utilizing the paved trails around and near the lake. Participants can race as individuals or as a relay team of two or three. Click here to register.
The Ladies DU Fayetteville duathlon training program will consist of six fitness sessions, meeting on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m, at Veterans Memorial Park at Lake Fayetteville. Sessions will be 45-60 minutes in length. Participants will meet at the small pavilion at Veterans Memorial Park unless otherwise communicated. The goal of the program is to help athletes become familiar with the racecourse and build up confidence in abilities for the DU! In addition to the fitness session, the program will kick off with a goal-setting/mindset workshop and conclude with a post-event goal/mindset review session.
