R.A.P.T.O.R. Gravel Grinder

The R.A.P.T.O.R. Gravel Grinder returns to Fayetteville on Saturday, December 5. The gravel road race will feature multiple races distances and a new start line at the Experience Fayetteville Visitors Center, 21 S. Block Ave.

Cyclists can choose between three courses of varying distances including 70+, 50+ and 30+ mile options. Racers can expect a mix of pavement, gravel and even single-track trails - with a gravel-specific or mountain bike recommended to handle the courses.

Taking advantage of the hundreds of miles of backcountry gravel roads accessible from Fayetteville, the R.A.P.T.O.R Gravel Grinder sends riders through the White River Valley and into the Boston Mountain range of the Ozark Mountains for a day full of scenic gravel racing. The race is also known for its distinctive but difficult ending, a 1.4-mile singletrack climb up Mount Sequoyah, and to Fayetteville’s highest point.

Overlooking the beautiful downtown, racers cross the finish line at the Mount Sequoyah Event Center – a collection of historic lodges, houses, and cabins perfect for your next overnight stay in Fayetteville. While competitors can take an alternate (paved) route to the finish, they are encouraged to tackle the singletrack to receive a time bonus that subtracts 20 minutes from their official time!

We are excited to see gravel cyclists lined up in Downtown this December. Make sure to tag @fayettevillear and use #bikefayetteville so we can share in your gravel racing adventures in Fayetteville, Arkansas!
