Join in as Roots presents Thursday Night: A Roots Stream-a-Thon set for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27. The event will give a little taste of Fayetteville Roots opening night and will include performances by Birds of Chicago, John Fullbright, Nick Offerman & Megan Mullally, The Steel Wheels, Raina Rose, and The Honey Dewdrops.
Speaking of taste, you can even order some local fare to pair with the tunes. Place an order for a chicken dinner by Chef Jerrmy Gawthrop or choose from a selection of gourmet take-and-bake pizzas from Woodstone Pizza. Place your order online and pick up at Roots HQ. Proceeds from food purchases will help fund the Roots Meals for Musicians program which has provided meals to local musicians throughout the pandemic.
All are welcome to tune-in to this free event but are asked to register. Donations aren’t required but are appreciated.
In addition to the Thursday event, live-streams are also planned throughout the weekend. Friday and Saturday night (Aug. 28-29) features performances by local favorites Arkansauce and Earl and Them performing at George’s Majestic Lounge. The Sunday live stream (Aug. 30) from the Roots HQ will feature performances by 3 Penny Acre, Ashtyn Barbaree, and Kaylin Fay.
Fayetteville Roots Festival was originally scheduled for Aug. 26-30 at various venues around town. Back in May, organizers made the decision to postpone this year’s event until Aug. 26-29, 2021.
