Fayetteville Film Fest

Fayetteville, Arkansas has long been considered a hotspot for all types of artists and makers, and a rapidly growing interest in filmmaking has especially emerged in recent years. Whether the passion be for documentaries, short films, full-length feature films or animation, the 11th annual Fayetteville Film Fest is attracting both filmmakers and movie-lovers to town to be immersed in this ever-evolving, increasingly accessible form of creative expression. Happening in the heart of the city’s bustling downtown on the historic Fayetteville Square, the festival is set for October 3 – 5, 2019 with the primary screening location in the Global Campus Theatre at 2 East Center Street.

Fayetteville Film Fest exists to advocate for films and filmmakers entering the marketplace, and the year-round work of the organizers culminates in a full schedule of panels and other events designed to complement nearly 80 film screenings. The lineup offers three non-stop days and evenings of world class films in a setting where creators and supporters comingle to talk about and nurture the art. Prizes will be awarded for Best Animated Film, Best Foreign Film, Best Short Film, Best Documentary, Best Narrative Film, Arkansas Connection, Emerging Filmmaker and the Best of Fest.

The festival also hosts the Fayetteville Film Prize competition on October 5, a pitch event where thirty participants advance register to have five minutes to pitch their best film concept to industry pros. The ideas are judged and offered constructive feedback. The winner of the best pitch receives a $2,000 cash prize to help fund production of the film idea over the following ten months, then screen it at the 2020 Fayetteville Film Festival.
