R.A.P.T.O.R. Gravel Grinder

Northwest Arkansas is home to an incredible range of outdoor options for the active lifestyle enthusiast, boasting scenic highways and trails for every cycling and running skill level—lined with the lush foliage that has earned Arkansas its nickname, The Natural State. One of the many options designed to challenge and engage athletes in the region is the R.A.P.T.O.R. Adventure Series, a collection of road cycling, off-road cycling and running events with unique formats and challenges in Fayetteville, Arkansas. One of the series events, R.A.P.T.O.R. Gravel Grinder, will take place Saturday, November 23, 2019.

Originating at Fayetteville’s highest point overlooking the beautiful downtown, the R.A.P.T.O.R. Gravel Grinder will start out at the Mount Sequoyah Center. This particular race will involve a combination of pavement, gravel and single-track dirt trails. Participants will need a gravel bike or mountain bike to handle the course, and will be able to choose from one of three categories:

  • RAPTOR X – 25 to 35 miles
  • RAPTOR XX – 45 to 55 miles
  • RAPTOR XXX – 65 to 75 miles

If you’re one who studies or tests out race courses ahead of the event, the R.A.P.T.O.R. Gravel Grinder has a catch…only the mileages and elevations of the road, gravel and dirt trails will be released ahead of time. The actual course will not be shared until 8 a.m. on the morning of the event—and riders will have the unique opportunity and exhilaration of experiencing new Northwest Arkansas terrain and roads.

Registration pricing depends upon what wearables the participant chooses and includes a great post-ride celebration event. Early bird registrants will save a bit of cash until October 1, and the final deadline to sign up is November 15. Each race category does have a capped field limit, so racers are encouraged to not wait until the last minute.
