Whether you’re a fast-ride thrill seeker or the carousel is more your speed, the carnival midway is always a top attraction for all ages throughout the duration of the fair. Be sure to check the schedule for ticket and armband information to find special deals for families and seniors. And, even if you never climb aboard a ride, there’s still major delight in finding the perfect, most decadent county fair food imaginable!
The fun is definitely not limited to carnival rides and culinary treats—each night features two entertaining Lumberjack Shows, showcasing awesome feats of skill and strength. An absolutely irresistible free petting zoo is a must for any animal lover, as is a stroll through the livestock barns to see all manner of agricultural animals and poultry. There are multiple livestock shows and a premium livestock auction that supports the year-long hard work of young people with 4-H or FFA agricultural backgrounds, and young ladies ranging from babies to age 21 who reside in the county have the opportunity to complete in one of seven fair pageant divisions.
Bakers, makers and growers of all ages show off their talents and hard work through exhibitions in the home economics and agronomy departments, where thousands of entries are judged in a competitive quest for champion ribbons. And if all of this weren’t enough, the fair culminates in a heart-pounding Saturday night experience, as crowds gather for the 2019 Bull Buck Out with the LJ Jenkins Bull Riding Tour.
