Liz Callaway – veteran Broadway performer, Tony nominee and Emmy Award-winner – will star in the hilarious and insightful, one-person play "Every Brilliant Thing" in TheatreSquared's intimate 170 seat theatre. The story is simple. A kid makes a list as a gift for her mom — a list of everything worth living for in the world.
"1. Ice cream. 2. Kung fu movies. 3. Burning things. 4. Laughing so hard you shoot milk out of your nose. 5. Construction cranes. 6. Me." As that kid grows up and experiences life, love, and loss – the list of ‘every brilliant thing’ gets longer and more vital, and suddenly, she needs it in ways she never expected. Playwright Duncan Macmillan’s acclaimed work shines a warm light in the corners of the human condition—in an immersive staging where every seat is a part of the action.
TheatreSquared, a professional theater company, presents a diverse season of comedies, dramas and musicals. The company is Northwest Arkansas' only year-round professional theatre, offering a unique audience experience in an intimate space at Nadine Baum Studios. In 2011, TheatreSquared was recognized by the American Theatre Wing, founder of the Tony Awards, as one of the nation's ten most promising emerging theatres.
TheatreSquared’s 13th season will be their final season in Nadine Baum Studios before moving to their new permanent home at the corner of Spring and West Streets in the historic Downtown & Dickson Street Entertainment District. The new 50,000 square-foot building unites two state-of-the-art theatres, and will include the company’s first dedicated rehearsal space, education and community space, offices, eight guest artist apartments, outdoor terraces at three levels, and a new commons area complete with a café/bar that will be open all day.
The new space also features a flexible stage that has the ability to transform into multiple setups, giving the design and production teams "full artistic palette to create any imaginative world onstage."
