Hurts Donut Run

It’s okay to eat delicious donuts if we’re willing to burn off the calories, right? Well, Hurts Donuts in Fayetteville is providing you with both opportunities!

Hurts Donuts is hosting its inaugural Hurts Donut Run on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Walker Park in Fayetteville. The event in Fayetteville is one of several taking place across the country.

This non-competitive 5K is open to persons of all ages and abilities. Come to run (or walk) the course with your friends and family and enjoy a fun morning while celebrating our favorite dunkable breakfast food: donuts (which will be waiting for you at the finish line). Freshly brewed coffee also will be served, along with other refreshments.

With it being close to Halloween, why not get into the spirit a little early? Ther run will also feature a costume contest, so dress up and enter for a chance to win prizes!

Hurts Donuts is Fayetteville’s newest donut shop, offering a wide variety of flavors and using non-traditional toppings such as Reese’s cups, Lucky Charms cereal and Oreo cookies. The Missouri-based company opened its Fayetteville location in June of this year and has quickly become a favorite spot to grab a sweet treat.

Packet pickup is at 8 a.m., and the run starts at 10 a.m. Walker Park is located in South Fayetteville on W. 15 Street (east of School Avenue). The Razorback Greenway runs through the park, so feel free to warm up with a walk there from the Historic Downtown Square, where the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market will be taking place until noon.

Registration gets you a bib number, T-shirt, goodie bag and other surprises, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Multiple Sclerosis Society. For more information or to register onine, visit “Run ’till it Hurts!”
