"New Movement at Mount Sequoyah" will be created from interviews with local residents about their memories of Mount Sequoyah and their lives in the Ozarks. Words, voices, and memories are collaged together through dance, music, and theatre for an immersive outdoor performance as part of the collective’s artist residency at Mount Sequoyah throughout the month of May.
The project pairs homegrown Fayetteville dancers Caroline Sharkey and Blake Worthey, with Moscelyne ParkeHarrison, from Massachusetts and Elias Rosa, from New Jersey. Local Emmy-winning composer Amos Cochran will be working with the artists to create a score to be accompanied live during the performance. BODYSONNET collective has performed in spaces such as an athletic center racquetball court, a large open field on a boarding school campus, a sculpture garden in the Berkshires, and traditional theater spaces. Trillium Salon Series, a Fayetteville arts nonprofit dedicated to redefining the live music experience to invite connection and build community is pleased to sponsor BODYSONNET's residency. This project was produced in part by Jake Nahor of BODYSONNET.
Looking for something fun to do this May?
