The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announced that the 2022 Cyclo-Cross World Championships will be held in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Jan. 29-30, 2022. This will be only the second time that the championships have been held in the United States. Local nonprofit BikeNWA will lead a coalition of community partners, including Experience Fayetteville, in organizing the World Championships.
Enjoy miles of Razorback Regional Greenway cycling at the Square 2 Square Bike Ride. This biannual event happens each Spring and Fall, celebrating Northwest Arkansas' downtown squares and the unique cycling amenities we are fortunate to have. The ride is not set up to be a race but rather a leisurely family-friendly event.
Fayetteville is a haven for competitive cycling and mountain biking, and casual bike rides around the city are one of the most popular things to do. Cycling is a great way to experience everything the city has to offer — restaurants, shopping, nightlife — while still enjoying the beautiful outdoors Northwest Arkansas and the Ozarks are known for.
One local cycling team, the Fayetteville Wheelmen, hosts many local group rides and represent our city by racing and riding all over the world, sporting their Experience Fayetteville jerseys. We recently caught up with the team to see what they think makes Fayetteville such a perfect place to cycle every day.
Homegrown Music Festival has been rooted in the Ozarks since 2016 and prides itself on being a sustainable, family-friendly approach to live music. This year’s festival is a little different in that it is taking place in Fayetteville, showcasing more mountain sports and, one of our favorite parts, IT’S FREE.
