Primary Trust

Sat. Feb. 8 2:00 pm

PRIMARY TRUST
BY EBONI BOOTH | DIRECTED BY VICKIE WASHINGTON
Winner of the 2024 Pulitzer Prize, Primary Trust follows mild-mannered Kenneth, a 36-year-old, set-in-his-ways bookstore worker, who spends most evenings sipping Mai Tais with his best friend at the local tiki bar. When he’s suddenly laid off, his world turns upside down—in more ways than one. Booth's surprising, touching comedy explores new beginnings, old friends, and the power of seeing the world through fresh eyes.

“It will restore your faith in theatre’s elemental storytelling powers.” -The Observer

“Perfect-anything rarely exists, but Primary Trust is pretty darn near to a perfect play.” - The Daily Beast

“It’s actually a wake up call, and not just for the man who’s been living in a daze.” - NYT Critics Pick

Room for Everyone: A “Good Trouble” Fundraiser for Canopy NWA

Sat. Feb. 8 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Come show our local refugee community some love on Saturday, February 8th, from 2-4pm for a free, fun-filled, and informative fundraising event to create “good trouble” at this urgent moment and support Canopy NWA through a challenging time!

Write love letters to refugees who have recently made NWA their home, enjoy live music by Still on the Hill and Meadow Makers, and learn more from folks on the ground about how you can stand with this community.

We’ll have Afghan and Syrian snacks prepared by Inspired Hands (a local refugee-based business), a photo booth where you can express your support for Canopy and its clients with fun signs, a card-making station where you can write love letters to our refugee neighbors, and more!

This is a fundraising event hosted by Courtney Thomas & Stephen Ironside at Iron Lotus Creative to collect donations for Canopy NWA's critical support of refugees in our region. We can handle all forms of payment – but cash or check are preferred. These donations are tax-deductible.

This is a FREE EVENT. Tickets are required for our planning purposes.

The Comedy Zone: Tacarra Williams

Sat. Feb. 8 7:30 pm

Tacarra Williams, also known as The Beautiful Beast, is a comedian and host of the new CW show "Totally Funny Kids" and currently opening for Katt Williams on his Dark Matter Tour.

As the third oldest of eight siblings, her comedy revolves around family humor – voicing what people think but are too afraid to express. Williams champions women's empowerment in her routines.

Williams has opened for several comedy greats, including Tony Rock, DeRay Davis and Bill Bellamy, and was a runner-up on NBC's “Bring the Funny.” Her appearance on Kevin Hart's 30-minute special “The Next Level” on Comedy Central solidified her growing presence in the comedy scene. Williams is the only woman who made it to the finals for Shaq’s Comedy All-Star Competition and the first female host for Chocolate Sundaes at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles.

Bold and unabashed, Williams is a force!
