Pushing Back, the creation of NWA artist Jennifer Baugh, invites viewers to experience the sensory world of neurodivergent individuals through color, light, texture, scent, and sound. Inspired by her love of art from childhood, Jennifer aims to foster empathy and understanding through art.
Located in the Sequoyah Gallery at the historic Mount Sequoyah Center, the latest installation brings an evolution of the sensory experience visitors have enjoyed previously around Northwest Arkansas. Partnering with Candles by Whitney candles to curate a signature scent, Jennifer has incorporated even more of the human senses to delight visitors to the experience.
An opening reception for the exhibition will be held on Thursday, October 3 from 6-8pm at the Mount Sequoyah Center. The Sequoyah Gallery will be open to the public each Thursday & Friday from 2-5pm during the month of October. Special viewings may be scheduled by request.
