The third annual Fayetteville Gumbo Cookoff will be held Saturday, March 17, at the Washington County Fairground. 

The event will feature more than 30 gumbos competing to take home this year’s Peoples Choice trophy, as well as local craft beer and live music provided by Block Street Hot Club and Second Line Strings.

Roller derby is a completely unique, high-impact sport that is known for being totally inclusive of age, gender, nationality and background. It consists of two teams of five players roller skating around a track trying to get a designated team member (the "jammer") to lap members of the opposing team.

The Septura Brass Septet will visit the Faulkner Performing Arts Center on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville as part of their USA Tour 2018. This "dazzlingly polished" (BBC Music Magazine) ensemble brings together London's leading players to redefine brass chamber music through the uniquely expressive sound of the brass septet. The group is the Ensemble in Residence at the Royal Academy of Music in London and has recorded 10 records for Naxos Records.

Fayetteville Yoga Fest is a three-day festival that takes place amongst the Ozark Mountains in Fayetteville, Arkansas on May 4-6th, 2018. The event is a celebration of movement, music and mindful living, with a msision to build a community that cultivates compassion, creativity and connection.

The festival features more than 60 yoga classes over the course of three days, including both outdoor & indoor yoga classes for all levels and age groups. In addition to yoga classes, the event will also offer meditation, live music, kids yoga, group hikes, thought-provoking discussions & presentations, art, food and shopping (with local, earth-conscious vendors).

Egyptian rock star and activist Ramey Essam will be performing at the Faulkner Performing Arts Center on the University of Arkansas campus Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

This special performance is part of the Northwest Arkansas Songwriting Forum hosted by The House of Songs Ozarks and is being presented by the Faulkner Center and the King Fahd Center for Middle East Studies. It will be an interactive engagement with song and discussion that will be both entertaining and enlightening.
