Beaver Lake
Beaver lake covers nearly 70 miles with 449 miles of shoreline, offering skiing, fishing, swimming, scuba diving, camping, marinas, excursions and guided fishing trips.

Beaver Lake Tailwaters
These 8-mile long tailwaters are heavily stocked with rainbow and brown trout. Like many other Arkansas tailwaters, cutthroats and brookies will take an occasional fly. 479-253-6154.

Buffalo River
Buffalo National Park encompasses 135 miles of the 150-mile long Buffalo River. Its riverbed cuts through limestone bluffs and travels eastward into the White River. It is a popular spot for camping, canoeing, fishing, spotting elk or cooling off from a summer hike or mountain bike ride.

Kings River
This stream twists its way 90 miles northward and empties into the White River, ending in southern Missouri's Table Rock Lake. Mulberry River
According to whitewater enthusiasts, it provides one of the state's wildest rides during spring, pouring over ledges, shooting through willow thickets and offering Class II/III-rated adventure.

Lake Fayetteville
The nearest escape to hike, fish, watch birds, study nature or to just get away from it all. Includes a boat dock and ramp, bait and tackle shop, pavilion, softball facilities, restrooms and playground. A 5.5-mile soft trail circles the lake.

Lake Sequoyah
1,779 acres of natural terrain, a boat dock, boat ramp and bait and tackle shop. Several primitive routes lead to the lake for fishing.

Lake Wilson
A 270-acre natural Ozark environment, this woodlands setting offers fishing, a picnic pavilion and a 2.6-mile primitive trail named Clark Trail. www.accessfayetteville.org

Lake Wedington
U.S. Forest Service and University of Arkansas Project. An excellent spot to encounter a weekend natural getaway. Canoes and paddle boat rental, boat ramp, 7-mile hiking trail, a shorter Lake Shore Trail, fishing, fishing pier, mountain bike trails, camping, group camp site, pavilion, swimming, cabin rental and lodge rentals are available.
