Homegrown Music Festival has been rooted in the Ozarks since 2016 and prides itself on being a sustainable, family-friendly approach to live music. This year’s festival is a little different in that it is taking place in Fayetteville, showcasing more mountain sports and, one of our favorite parts, IT’S FREE.

Located in one of Fayetteville’s most appreciated parks, the Gulley Park Concert Series is a free event featuring live music. A favorite throughout the summer for locals as well as out-of-towners, six family-friendly bands are performing every other week, including the Ben Miller Band, local second-line band Crescent City Combo and Fayetteville’s own Barrett Baber, a former contestant on NBC’s The Voice.

Located in the Uptown District, JBGB (JJ’s Beer Garden and Brewery) has become one of the most popular establishments in Fayetteville, as it’s offers four things locals and guests love: food, beer, games and music.

In fact, it’s outdoor gaming area includes shuffle board, baggo, ping pong, bocce ball, sand volleyball and a wading pool, making it a virtual playground for adults. Considering JBGB is also a craft brewery, it’s no wonder people love going there — and staying for a fun night!

The third annual Arkansas Brewgrass Fest will be held Sunday, April 29, 1-7 p.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds. The event welcomes everyone to come out and enjoy bluegrass music, local food, tons of fun and, of course, great beer.

The fourth annual VoiceJam A Capella festival will take place at Walton Arts Center April 5-7. But this is not your grandmother’s a cappella. This is current music and old music made current by extreme vocal range and control, tight harmonies, sick beats and vocal percussion.

Produced in conjunction with Vocal Asia Festival, VoiceJam features a full weekend of a cappella, including workshops, concerts and an intense competition. Whether you want to compete, learn or listen, VoiceJam has something for everyone.
