Fun Things To Do in Fayetteville in June

Experience Fayetteville with the locals during First Thursday, a community-centered, family-friendly event on the historic downtown square. The fun begins Thursday, June 1st, at 5 p.m. and features live music, delicious food, exhibits from local artists and interactive kid-centered activities, all in a lovely outdoor setting.

This month, we are celebrating an Ozark favorite — pie! Several different takes on pie will be available, from traditional southern fried pies to empanadas. You can also find craft beer from Core Brewing Company or shop at nearby stores open late just for the event.

The Fayetteville Farmer’s Market is in full swing on Saturday mornings, with happy crowds of visitors and locals with strollers and dogs in tow. From 7:00 am until 2:00 pm., local vendors sell gorgeous produce, flowers, artisanal products (don’t miss the delicious goat cheese from White River Creamery) and art amongst the picturesque gardens that surround the square.

Live music fills the square with buskers on every corner most weekends. There are also food trucks and delicious local coffee and baked goods from Arsaga’s. Stop at the Dripping Springs Farm booth for a beautiful bouquet, check out the artists at work and grab a seat on a corner bench to experience the culture of Fayetteville.

For another unique Fayetteville experience, visit the Clinton House Museum, just south of the University of Arkansas campus. This unassuming house holds a special place in history. Not only did a future United States President and Secretary of State call it their first home, they were married right in the living room. Bill Clinton took Hillary Rodham’s hand in marriage in October of 1975, seventeen years before he would be elected President.

Inside the house you’ll see much more than just a well preserved and restored home in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. Visitors can witness rarely seen memorabilia of Clinton’s early political career, including his campaigns for the U.S. House of Representatives and Arkansas Attorney General. You can also view a faithful replica of Hillary’s wedding dress, and follow a timeline to put their Fayetteville years in perspective.
