This blast from the past arcade is the perfect way to show your kids the way you used to play the video games, before they were “classics.” Featuring an impressive collection of arcade games like Donkey Kong, Pac-Man and Galaga, Arkadia Retrocade is a family-fun experience sure to take you back to your teenage years while engaging even the pickiest teenagers today.
Kids of all ages (even you, Dad) will enjoy this experience in a traditional arcade. Admission is only $5 at the door, and then games are free to play — no time limit!
Arkansas Air & Military Museum
With original artifacts and aviation memorabilia, the Arkansas Air & Military Museum is a great place for family-fun and education. Most kids cringe at the word “museum,” but this one-of-a-kind collection of combat helicopters and planes is sure to wow and inspire. The collection includes displays from the golden age of aviation to the jet age, including Vietnam-era Army helicopters and a Navy carrier fighter.
Educational and engaging, this museum is a great way to get your kids excited about American history! Regular museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday through Friday.
As they say, Terra Studios is “using art to create a better world.” This interactive art gallery sits on 6 acres of unparalleled beauty and creativity. With hands-on experiences and classes, children are encouraged to tap into their creativity and explore unique passions and talents.
The non-profit gallery allows you to view on-site glassblowers through the panoramic viewing window, and the outdoor display features works of art from over 100 local artists, including fantasy and fountains to spark your child’s imagination and sense of adventure.
Terra Studios is an incredible way to engage your children with nature and serenity, providing an educational experience for every member of your family. There is also an on-site cafe with locally roasted coffee and light refreshments like quiches, sandwiches and locally-crafted desserts.
112 Drive-in Theater
One of the few remaining drive-in theaters in the country, the 112 Drive-in Theater is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and provides a unique movie-watching experience from your car! This theater is a blast from the past, featuring new movies in an old-timey drive-in setting.
The 112 concession stand features not only movie theatre popcorn and snacks, but reasonably priced food for the whole family as well. Admission is $9 for ages 13 and up, $7 for children 6-12 and FREE for ages 5 and under. FYI, cash only — no credit cards or checks accepted.
