Fall Harvest Fest

The fall season is officially underway, and what better way to celebrate than Fall Harvest Fest at the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market.

On Saturday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to noon, come to the Historic Downtown Square to enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of the season with a variety of activities for everyone. Fall Harvest Fest is free and open to the public.

The downtown square and nearby Dickson Street serve as the epicenter of fun for people throughout Northwest Arkansas, and the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market is one of the most popular things to do. The area is also home to many of Fayetteville’s unique boutiques and stores, all of which will have fall-time favorites for sale, such as candles, clothing, decorations and all things that go perfect with pumpkin spice lattes.

During Fall Harvest Fest, a cooking demo will be held featuring some of the best area chefs, who will be whipping up amazing seasonal treats:

  • Chrissy Sanderson of Mockingbird Kitchen
  • Anne Carroll of Farmer's Table Cafe
  • Mike & Shannon Wilson of South In Your Mouth
  • Heather Artripe of Ozark Natural Foods

These talented chefs will be demonstrating how to utilize the abundance of fall harvest in your cooking, with free samples for tasting! There will also be jellies and jams for tasting at several market vendors.

Activity booths and workshops will be led by Seeds that Feeds, Walton Arts Centers, Feed Communities, Ozark River Stewards, Food Corp, Tri Cycle Farm, Master Gardeners, SNAP Ed and more.

The Fayetteville Farmers’ Market has been the region’s headquarters for locally grown produce and handmade goods for 45 years. It starts with fruits and vegetables, but the Farmers’ Market can supply everything from eggs, meats and baked goods to homemade jams and honey as well as an array of flowers and plants. Crafts and fine art from the region also are for sale.

On Saturdays, the market often hums with the sounds of street performers and musicians. This variety may be why our market won the top spot in the America’s Favorite Farmers Market contest.
