Ladies DU Fayetteville

Fayetteville’s beautiful trail system will be home to the 2019 Ladies DU Fayetteville, a 15-mile duathlon open to women of all ages. Organized by Fayetteville Parks and Recreation and taking place Sunday, June 9, 2019, hundreds of participants will run two miles, bicycle eleven miles and then finish with another two-mile run on popular sections of the city’s fully paved trails.

In its fourth year, this ladies-only race offers individual participation or relay teams of two—one runner and one cyclist. Registration is open online until June 8 or until space is full.

The race start, transition and finish location will be at Veterans Memorial Park at Lake Fayetteville. Beginning at 7 a.m., runners will go one mile out and then come back on the beautiful, well-shaded Clear Creek Trail (part of the Razorback Regional Greenway) with the turnaround point located where the Mall Access Trail enters Clear Creek Trail. The bike course will consist of two laps counter-clockwise around the 5.5-mile Lake Fayetteville Trail, surrounded by a lush natural setting and gorgeous views of the lake as well as a trip over the bridge spanning the lake spillway.

Post-race festivities will include music and a beer garden, and all finishers will receive a medal. Awards will go to the top three overall individuals and the top three overall relay teams. Awards will also be given to the top three finishers in thirteen age groups ranging from under-14 to over-70.

Volunteers are needed before, during and after the race. If you would like to be involved, visit givepulse.com to see shift descriptions and learn how to sign up.
