Summer Classic Horse Show

From Friday through Sunday, July 13-15, the Northwest Arkansas Hunter Jumper Association (NWAHJA) will host its 11th Annual Summer Classic Horse Show in Fayetteville. More than 100 riders and horses from Northwest Arkansas, as well as the region, will be competing for top awards and prize money.

The event is fun for all ages and will be held at the Pauline Whitaker Animal Sciences Arena, located at 1335 W. Knapp Drive.

The show kicks off at 1:30 p.m. on Friday with an Olympic style show jumping in which riders and horses compete against the clock over fences with tight turns and tricky combinations to test the horse-and-rider team to the fullest. Generally, the show starts at 8 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

Admission to the weekend-long event is free. Additional free activities for children are planned Saturday and Sunday as well, and food and beverages will be available for purchase. For a complete schedule visit
