The event is hosted by The Art Experience, a local non-profit that provides creative and therapeutic experiences in group/class settings, open studio and community building events for those who otherwise could not afford it.
Puppets in the Park lasts from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be puppetry and storytelling workshops for children, puppet shows for all ages, juggling, unicycling, crafts, games, music, food and the crowd-favorite “Giant Puppet Pageant.”
As a new addition to the festivities, this year will also include an adults-only Puppet Slam on Friday, October 13 at Path Outfitters on the Fayetteville Square. The slam will be composed of contemporary short-form puppet theater with pieces being performed by puppeteers of all skill levels.
