Bird Watching

Ruffle Your Feathers

Birding in Fayetteville and the Ozarks Mountains has become an extremely popular activity. More than 200 species of birds make their home in the Ozarks for some part of the year, while many birds live here year-round. The Ozark Mountain hardwood forests, pine forests and stream sides provide a wonderful habitat for this large species of birds.

There are numerous places in Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas to go birding and enjoy the clear mountain air and beautiful Arkansas scenery.

Terra Studios is home of the famous “Bluebird of Happiness” and a beautiful sanctuary for you to enjoy bird watching for all seasons. It is open year-round.

Enjoy birding by the beautiful water at Lake Fayetteville, a fabulous habitat for birds and wildlife, and at Woolsey Wetland Prairie, west of town.

Bring your binoculars and your journal and get ready to experience bird watching at its finest. If you plan on spending the night, we have many restaurants that will honor the early bird special and hotels that would love for you to ruffle your feathers while you are here.
